The Committee are sad to announce that Mike Tilmouth passed away yesterday after his battle with brain cancer. His energy, passion and friendship will be sadly missed at Great Notley Photography Club. He was the driving force and heartbeat of the club in his role as the original Chairman of the club only taking a back seat in the past year due to his illness. He will be remembered with great fondness by all who knew him.
Thoughts from some of our members:-
Neil – there was always a welcoming smile and a “Hello” on a Thursday evening when I joined. You could tell he was a man with drive a vision for the club and so I hope his lasting legacy will be the continued success of GNPC.
Lisa – Mike was one of the reasons I came back a second time to the club and decided to join. He was always there to offer a helpful word and to encourage you not to give up when your photography wasn’t quite going to plan.
Tim – Mike was the boss when I first joined GNPC, he was a great front man, and a warm and friendly presence. Had he not have been such a gent, I may not have had the confidence to return for my second week. I owe him a lot for that welcome.
David – Mike was very warm and welcoming when I joined the club. My condolences to his family and those who knew him well.
Paul – He was such an energetic and passionate man. I am thankful for the few years I knew him.
Anji – RIP Mike, you were an inspiration to the club , you will be surely missed
