Our 5th Annual AGM (the hint is in the title) and Awards Night:
Each year we have evolved as a club, from simply presenting the AGM as an extended committee meeting to an all-singing-all-dancing AGM/Awards and DVD extravaganza.
The review of the year showed; we have purchased a laptop computer and software, projector, Colormunki, basic DSLR camera and screen. We obtained external Grassroots funding of £3500 that covered the major part of our purchases, the remainder coming from club funds. Our membership has risen in the last 12 months from about 36 active members to 74 members plus 4 junior members
We now have continued the twice-monthly meetings, the second meeting usually being workshops and these are gaining in popularity. Resulting from the increase in numbers we have had to move to larger premises and this resulted in the evening we meet being changed to a Thursday.
We also provide pictures to Mount Chambers Surgery that we intend to change every 4 months or so. We have also raised £52.50 for the Alzheimer’s Research Trust and support for this organisation will continue for the next year.
All Committee Members were returned to their posts unopposed and most stood and justified their existence to the attendees. Club fees were kept at last year’s levels and the constitution was agreed.
The Awards Ceremony was compared by MikeT and the results were:
Winner Entry Level – John Parish
Winner Advanced Level – Lisa Forsyth
Winner Premier Level – Mark Edwards
Most Improved Photographer – Dot Riches, Awarded by Paul Stirland
Chairman’s Cup for Overall Contribution to the Club – Lisa Forsyth
Image of the Year – Me
Wine and nibbles were demolished and I think it is an indication of the increasing numbers and implied requirement to drink to get through the AGM that the wine barely made it to the end of the Awards Ceremony and we’ll need much more next year. Here’s to another vintage year for the club, Onward and Upward!
Thanks go to Cas Spicer for taking the photos, she didn’t have much to work with!
